Academic Management Strategies to Enhance Teachers' Creative Thinking Skills in Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College, China

Abstract 


       This research aimed to: 1) study the current and desirable conditions of academic management and creative thinking skills; 2) develop academic management strategies based on the concept of creative thinking skills; and 3) evaluate the developed strategies at Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Vocational and Technical College, China. A multiphase mixed methods design was employed. The population consisted of 1,239 faculty members, with a sample of 302 teachers selected via Yamane’s formula and stratified random sampling. Instruments included evaluation forms, questionnaires, and focus group discussions. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, and PNImodified, while qualitative data underwent content analysis.


      The findings revealed that current conditions of academic management and creative thinking skills were at a high level, whereas desirable conditions were at the highest level. Priority weaknesses included evaluation and incentives, teacher training, originality, and elaboration. The developed strategies comprised 1) Develop Creative Curriculum Management 2) Strengthen Innovation-Oriented Teaching Supervision 3) Enhance Teacher Development for Creative Thinking Skills and 4) Improve Evaluation and Incentive Systems. These strategies were evaluated as highly suitable and feasible for implementation. The study provides a systematic framework for integrating creative thinking into academic management, addressing the urgent need for teacher professional development and innovation-driven talent cultivation in vocational education. The findings offer actionable insights for policymakers and administrators seeking to bridge the gap between current practices and desired educational outcomes, thereby contributing to sustainable institutional improvement and industry-aligned talent development.
