DESIGNING PATTERNS FOR MUDMEE SILK IN SISAKET PROVINCE INSPIRED BY FRESH FLOWER NETS

Abstract

This study on designing patterns for Mudmee silk inspired by fresh flower nets aimed to explore the design of Mudmee silk patterns and to evaluate the satisfaction of the target group with Mudmee silk inspired by fresh flower nets. The researcher designed Mudmee patterns based on the motifs of fresh flower nets, including “Starburst Motifs,” “Four-Petal Cluster,” and “Crystal Wall.” Three conceptual sketches were created according to the elements of Mudmee fabrics from Sisaket Province. These designs were evaluated by five experts, the majority of whom selected the third design, “Crystal Wall,” as the prototype for arranging the elements of the Mudmee silk fabric inspired by flower nets. The majority of experts selected the silk weaving process used less silk threads. Then, the second color group was selected—tamarind seed red as the base color and yellow for the patterns. The chosen design, as approved by the experts, was woven into a single piece of Mudmee silk fabric featuring the flower net motif. This fabric was then evaluated for satisfaction by a target group of 100 individuals. The collected data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and mean. The findings were revealed as follows:

          The satisfaction of the target group with the design of Mudmee silk patterns inspired by fresh flower nets can be categorized into three aspects: Design, Color, and Utility and Practicality aspects. For Design, he targets group expressed the highest level of satisfaction with the design, which successfully reflects the unique identity of Mudmee silk from Sisaket Province, achieving an average score of 4.44. For Satisfaction with the colors of Mudmee silk inspired by fresh flower nets was also rated at the highest level, with an average score of 4.48. In terms of utility and practicality, the product was deemed suitable for wearing and capable of being developed into Sisaket Province's signature product, achieving an average score of 4.44.
