Factors influencing the organizational commitment of personnel in Science and Technology Faculty, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University

The objectives of this study are : 1) to study the level of quality of work life and organizational commitment of personnel in Faculty of Science and Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, 2) to study the relationship between personnel factors, quality of work life and organizational commitment. Data are collected by questionnaires for personnel working in academic year 2557 with sample group of 172 persons. Data are analysised by the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences(SPSS) that are the backward multiple regression analysis, One Way Anova and the exploration of the difference among means by Scheffe’s procedure. The results are as follows : 1) The level of the quality of work life are at a good level that the organizational pride is the dominate factor which social integration and development of human capacities are in descending order, respectively. 2) The organizational commitment of personal are at high level which the ranging are as follows: Willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization at the highest level, the acceptance of the organization’s goal and the desire to maintain membership in the organization, respectively. 3) The study on the factors affecting on organizational commitment find that personal factor on working position and education level show the relationship on the organizational commitment in part of the desire to maintain membership in the organization. And the organizational commitment in part of the acceptance of the organization’s goal and the willingness to exert considerable effort on behalf of the organization have relationship on the quality of work life only. In addition, we also find that the personnel who are teachers have lower organizational commitment than the professional support staff and the personnel having the Doctoral degree show lower organizational commitment than the personnel having the Bachelor’s degree.
