Impression, Faith, and Donations of the Laymen at a Buddhist Temple in Central Thailand

This research article aims to study a phenomenon occurred at one of the most visited and highest donation Buddhist temple in Central Thailand, to understand the motivations behind the visiting and the donations. The analysis is based on three variables: impression, faith, and donations; with qualitative methods. Data collection used interviews, observations, and documents; including comments from Facebook. The results showed that “impression and faith” driven by cleanliness, well organizing, facilities, environments, strictness of the monks, and the leadership of the abbot are the key factors for people to visit the temple. Moreover, these two motivations influence people to make donations and change their attitude towards life that supports the success in their careers and finances.
