The Real Problems and Roles of Assistant to Member of the House of Representatives

The problems of appointing assistant to member of the house of representatives (MPs) of the Thai Parliament, both past research and factual findings, indicates that there is the appointment of an assistant to the operation of the House of Representatives who are their own relatives or related regardless of efficiency knowledge, competence and potential for work. At the same time, the actual role of the assistant is unclear, the position has drawn criticism and attention that instead of being nominated after thorough careful consideration, it supports the interests of the MPs. Including the finding of whether or not the MPs have really utilized these staff to assist with tasks, the result showed that the assistant to the Members of the House of Representatives position does not contribute to the effectiveness and promotion of legislative affairs of the work of the House of Representatives.
