Abstract

In the past the Thai society, the most of the women were under the power of men. Women were being abused, take advantage of a society without freedom of leadership in local development. Until the Local Government Act No. 6, B.E. 2525, which gave women the opportunity to apply for village chiefs can be a village headman. The situation of women's roles in Thailand had developed to another level which was accepted in the group of males more. It could be seen from the fact that Thailand had woman leader. Or the first female prime minister, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, was increasingly accepted by the public, as the female leader was the leader of the country. Being involved in the expression of opinions and decisions regarding politics and governance was still likely to develop for the better and became a trend in local such as to have equality as men in society and working. Women's political participation was likely to increase since the promotion of rights, liberty and equality of women from all parts, both internationally and at the national level giving women the opportunity to develop themselves even more. Today's social structure provides an opportunity for women to have a political role. Whether it was political comments, the ballot to polling place and acting as a representative of the people in the council. They able to play an important role in strengthening the local community. As well as being able to create a process of involvement with others as effectively as men in society. And most importantly, it was not necessary for women to be elephants with hind feet
