Feasibility study of a container repairing factory establishment in Songkhla

Abstract
The objective of this research was to investigate a feasibility of a containers repairing factory establishment in Songkhla. There were 5 aspects in this research: marketing, technical, management, environment and financial. The target market of this project was classified into two groups: ship containers (transport by ship, 90%) and land containers (transport by truck, 10%). The factory will be located distance of 1.95 miles away from the port. Its area was 15 rais. The process layout concept was employed to design the factory. According to the management analysis, the functional organization was suggested for the project. For the environmental problems, there were two types of waste and scrap resulting from the cleaning container. Thus, wastewater treatment systems were anaerobic pond and oxidation pond system. Waste materials were screened by fine screening. The investment was projected at 80,774,000 baht. Approximately of 40,773,526 baht was the stockholder, ownership and 40,000,000 baht was long-term loan. The net present value (NPV) was 162,753,000 baht. At a weighted average cost of capital (WACC) of 10.23%. The internal rate of return (IRR) was 40.14%. The payback period was 2 years 8 months. In conclusion, the results confirm that there was a high feasibility to set up a containers repairing factory in Songkhla.
