Abstract

Thai youth’s tendency of having sexual intercourse at younger age has increased in number. Consequently,
it leads to unwanted pregnancy, illegal abortion and sexual transmitted diseases. To prevent unsafe sexual
problems, in high school students, this action research was aimed to study the school context and sexual behaviors
of students and to develop cooperation among youth, family and school applying the action research of Kemmis
and Mctaggart . The in-depth interviews of school’s administrators, teachers, and parents were conducted,
followed by four-days training for 90 students and one-day training for their parents. Questionnaires were used to
evaluate the knowledge, lifeskill, unsafe sex preventing behaviors, and family relationship. Frequency, percentage,
mean and paired t-test were used for statistical analysis. Results revealed the school context and students sexual
behavior. It also indicated that after the students had involved in the program, there was a statistically signifi cant
difference at the level 0.05. The parents gained more knowledge about risky sexual behaviors. They understood
their children and had good family relationship.
