Application of self-care theory program to relieve knee joint pain and satisfaction among elderly with knee osteoarthritis

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aimed to educate participants about the Application of Self-Care Theory to relieve knee joint pain and to assess the satisfaction among elderly with knee osteoarthritis in Amphoe Phayakkhaphum Phisai, Changwat Maha Sarakham, during 12-24 March 2010. The 60 subjects were simple random sampled and divided into an experimental group with 30 subjects and a control group with 30 subjects, with groups similar in terms of gender, age, educational level and health characteristics. A pain relief check list questionnaire and a satisfaction form were used to collect data. Statistics used were percentage, mean and standard deviation.
