Abstract

The objective of this research was to propose guidelines for quality improvement of 2 Ton-Trucks which aimed at the fulfillment of customers' needs and satisfaction. This research was conducted under the QFD (Quality Function Deployment) methodology and began by a collection of customer's opinions, which led to guidelines for the specifications of the appropriate technical performance. In the secondary process, the components of the specifica-tions regarding the process and product were identified and finally became the proposal for the quality and product improvement. Human resource training, parts keeping and checking, parts delivering to the production process, and internal quality improvement were suggested for quality improvement. The product improvements were focused on adjusting the vehicle's engine to run on CNG, and the strengthening of the headlights of trucks and reserve tanks. The results of this research revealed that the percentage of customers' satisfaction regarding the quality improvement was increased to 36%, and 12.45% regarding the product innovation compared with the former one.
