The influence of the organizational climate and organizational support on the core competency of registered nurses in the community hospitals of the Udon Thani province.

Abstract

The study is cross sectional descriptive research. The purposes of this study were to study the influence of the organizational climate and organizational support on the core competency of the registered nurses in the community hospitals of the Udon Thani province. The population was 827 on the registered nurses in the community hospitals of the Udon Thani province and the questionnaire was collected quantitative data by 220 samples and the in-depth interview was collected qualitative data by 10 staffs who were the key informants during January 25, 2011 to February 6, 2011. The data were analyzed by computer programs to acquire percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson product the organizational climate and organizational support were predicted the core competency of the registered nurses in the community hospitals of the UdonThani province at 0.05 levels were the dimension of responsibility (p-value<0.001) and dimension of warmth (p-value <0.001), the organizational support management (p-value<0.001) and technology (p-value <0.001). These factors could predict the core competency of the registered nurses in the community hospitals of the Udon Thani province at 59 percent.
