The quality improvement of community hospitals by staff participation in Kalasin province

Abstract

This study was based on cross-sectional descriptive research. The objectives were to study participation and the factors affecting staff participation in quality improvement of community hospitals of the Kalasin province. The population of this study was staffs working for community hospitals at Kalasin province. Three hundred twenty-one subjects were drawn by systematic random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaire, approved for the validity by three experts and the reliability at 0.95, and in-depth interview was performed during 3-28 January, 2011. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS for Windows and statistically disseminated by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Peason’s coefficient of correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the level of staff participation in quality improvement of community hospitals of Kalasin province was high. Furthermore, coefficient that affected staff participation in quality improvement of community hospitals of Kalasin province included responsibility, work status, working time, recognition, quality improvement training, management process, working position, and interpersonal relationship with statistical significance of 0.05. All of the eight factors could be co-variables in predicting by 66.4 percent.
