Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the operating parameters affecting header losses of a rice combine harvester for Chainat 1 rice variety. The results of the study indicate that grain moisture content (M), reel index (RI), cutter bar speed (V), service life of cutterbar (Y), finger spacing (R), stem length (H), product of M and Y (M*Y), product of M and V (M*V), product of Y and RI (Y*RI), product of Y and H (Y*H), product of V and RI (V*RI), V2 and RI2 were the major parameters affecting the losses.
