Abstract

This research aims to study factors influencing the development of small and medium ind ustries into export industries: a case study of the furniture industry. The sample group was manufacturers in small and medium furniture industries in Thailand. Data collection from the 375 sample group was performed by telephone interview or questionnaire technique. The results showed that technology and labor skill are the most important factors that have the highest relationship with the export effectiveness over other factors (R = 0.207 and 0.179 respectively). Raw materials and research are the second most important factors (R= 0.152 and 0.125 respectively). If there is the development of raw material with good research as well as the provision of funding, the provision of management knowledge and foreign market information, then the entrepreneurs will be able to develop for export in the future.
