Abstract

A documentary survey was performed on Cambodia studies, including research papers, academic papers and theses, from the National Library and 8 university libraries between July 2005 and March 2007. It was found that the main topic was political studies of the contemporary and historical situations, with most of them focusing on the Khmer rouge, which caused extreme changes in Cambodia. Historical studies, besides modern Cambodia studies (since Cambodia was a French colony) with regard to political events and politics, are about the Angkor period. Economic studies are in various sub-topics such as Thailand-Cambodia border trade, commerce and investment in Cambodia, labor migrants, etc. Some studies, fewer than the previous topics, are on other topics, for instance rural development activities, natural resources management, AIDS and health, Khmer language and literature, etc.
