Abstract

This research aimed to assess the financial performance of village funds in Khon Kaen. The financial ratios of four hundred village funds in Khon Kaen were investigated by using descriptive analysis, cluster analysis, and the Spearman Correlation test. The results indicate that most village funds are capable of managing their financial resources at the same level. However, the results reveal that some village funds possess different financial ratios from those of most village funds, suggesting that they possibly have different levels of financial management capability. Furthermore, the results imply that village funds that have a high percentage of revenue appropriation to the fund are likely to have high financial performance. This research has provided a systematic approach in evaluating village fundsû performance regarding financial information and this may lead to the improvement of village fund management
