Factors affecting the role and performance of the public health staffs at municipality area of region 12

Abstract
This research is cross-sectional descriptive study. The purpose of this research was to study factors affecting the role and performance of the public health administration officers at municipality of region 12, in four provinces: Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Mahasarakham and Kalasin. One hundred and sixty six questionnaires and twelve in-depth interviews were collected. The finding revealed that the social pressure affecting the role and performance was at “high” level and the role and performance of the public health administration officer at municipality was at “high” level. The social pressure was significantly related the role and performance of the public health administration officers at municipality of region 12 at 0.05 level. There were seven significance variables that predicted the role and performance of the public health administration officers at municipality namely the social pressure from executive in budget and material supporting, the award or punish, the social pressure from people in the public participation and the needs of the people, the personal characteristics in gender, education and duration of the public health administration. These factors could predict the role and performance of the public health administration officer at municipality at 78.7 percent.
