Administrative performance of primary health care unit chief in Nakhonratchasima province

Abstract
This study was a cross-sectional descriptive and the studied population was the administration chiefs of primary care units in Nakhonratchasima province. Results showed that most of them were female (53%) with the average age of 43.44 years old, the educational degree was Bachelor’s degree or equivalent for 77.8%, the marrital status was married for 74.2%, duration of working as the chief at primary care units was less than 10 years for 46.5%, and they were used to practice in administrational programs for 60.1%. Overall motivation was in “high” level at average value of 3.71 (S.D.=0.35). Motivator and hygiene factors were in “high” levels at average values of 3.71 (S.D.=0.37) and 3.60 (S.D.= 0.38), respectively. The work administration was in “high” level at the average value of 3.96 (S.D.=0.39). The variables could predict the chief’s administrative performance at primary care units in Nakhonratchasima province were hygiene factor in human relationship, motivator factor in work characteristic, and work success at significant level. All 3 aspects of the factors could jointly predict the chief’s work administration at primary care units in Nakhonratchasima province for 47.6%. The problems and obstacles mostly found, was the hygiene factor in the aspect of working condition and salary/revenue.
