Change management of the chiefs at health centers in Khon Kaen province

Abstract
This study is a cross sectional descriptive research. The purposes of this study were to study motivation and organizational support to change management by the chiefs at Health Centers in Khon Kaen province. The chiefs at Health Centers in Khon Kaen province were selected by systematic random sampling. Sample groups in this study were 141 chiets at Health Center in Khon Kaen, who were randomly selected by a systemic process. Research tools were the questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was found to be 0.98. Quantitative data from 141 participants were collected by questionnaire and qualitative data from the 10 staffs, who were interviewed, during December 15, 2010 to January 10, 2011. Quantitative data were analyzed by a computer program. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression were calculated. Results showed that the motivation and organizational support were significantly correlate with the change management of the chiefs at Health Centers in Khon Kaen province (r=0.607, p-value < 0.001 and r=0.559, p-value<0.001, respectively). There were significantly variables that predicted the change management of the chiefs at Health Centers, such as policy and administration hygiene factor, organizational support in management, and achievement motivation factor. These 3 factors could predict the change management of the chiefs at Health Centers in Khon Kaen province at 51.3%
