The influence of management and organizational changes on the core competency in working of heads of health centers of the north zone of Khon Kaen province

Abstract

 The study was cross-sectional descriptive research. The objective was to investigate management factors and organizational changes on the core competency in working of heads of health centers of the North zone in Khon Kaen province. The population was 82 heads of health centers, which data were collected from questionnaires (78 subjects) and interview (14 subjects). Result showed that as the whole, management factors, organizational management process and core competency in working were in high levels with averages of 3.78 (S.D. = 0.41), 4.02 (S.D. = 0.43) and 4.26 (S.D. = 0.44), respectively. Training on ability, management factors and organizational management process had a level of positive influence on core competencies in practice of the subjects with the level of statistical significance (r = 0.353, p-value = 0.002; r = 0.551, p-value <0.001 and r = 0.556, p-value <0.001, respectively). Three factors that could predict core competencies of the subjects included management factors for materials, organization and training on ability with a level of statistical significance (49.10%).
