Abstract

This paper details an evaluative research project. The objectives of this study were 1) to evaluate the effectiveness of non-formal education in regard to the following issues: (a) quality of graduates/trainees, (b) projects/activities which complied with the policies of the Ministry of Education, government and educational reforms, (c) benefits of the program, and 2) to identify guidelines for the establishment of work principles, missions, target groups and the organization of projects and activities as well as a framework for the management of non formal education in the future.
This study's population includes non-formal education centers in the Northeastern region. Samples were drawn in two stages: Simple random sampling was used to draw ten non-formal education centers out of nineteen the population of 19. Then, groups of 94 teachers ,five hundred students and one-hundred and seventy-five graduates were randomly selected. Measures included survey forms and questionnaires. Small group discussions and focus groups were also employed. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage and content. The findings were presented by tables and description.
