Professional Learning Community and Artificial Intelligence Integration for Enhancing Teachers’ Instructional Quality
Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic article aims to present an approach for enhancing the quality of teachers' instructional practices through the integration of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This article examines the AI-influenced evolution of Thai teachers' roles from Education 1.0 to Education 4.0. It discusses the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) and the implementation of Lesson Study as collaborative professional development approaches for strengthening teachers' instructional competencies. Furthermore, the article proposes the AI-PLC Framework, which provides a systematic approach to integrating AI into the lesson development process. The framework establishes Shared Vision as a common goal among teachers and educational administrators, PLC as a mechanism for collaborative learning and professional collaboration, and AI Integration as a supportive tool for data analysis, learning design, assessment, and knowledge management. AI can continuously support the Lesson Study process through the stages of Analyze, Plan, Do & See, Reflect, and Redesign, leading to the concept of AI-Driven PLC, which utilizes empirical evidence to support instructional improvement, teacher professional development, and educational innovation under the principles of continuous improvement and ethical AI use.
