Empowering Women : The Legacy of Princess Dara Rasmi’s Role in Northern Thailand

Abstract

This research article aims to analyze the role of Princess Dara Rasmi, In the era of empowering women in the transition from women in the Lanna tradition to women in modern Thailand, using data from historical documents and concepts of women's empowerment. The results of the data analysis show the important role of Princess Dara Rasmi related to the concept of women's empowerment. It was found that there is a process of negotiation for women's power in the cultural space through the expression of women's power that has a significant influence on the creation of women's space in the modern Thai social structure in the political, economic, educational, and socio-cultural contexts. Furthermore, Princess Dararasami not only changed her own society. But she also set an example for future generations, proving that women's empowerment in the role of Princess Dara Rasmi is a powerful driver of social progress.
