Participation in the Development Plan of Muang Bangkruai Municipality, Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study the level of participation in the preparation of the Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan, 2) compare participation in the preparation of Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan, and 3) study the relationship between factors of participation and the level of participation in the preparation of Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan. This study was a quantitative research. The population used in this research consists of the people of Bang Kruai Municipality, Nonthaburi Province. The sample for the research was comprised of 400 voters aged 18 years and over obtained by simple random sampling using a Taro Yamane Table in Bang Kruai Municipality Area. The tool used for data collection was a questionnaire, statistical data analysis were mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study were as follows:

1) The level of participation in the preparation of the Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan. They had a high level mean considering each aspect in descending order as follows: (1) Cognitive aspect. (2) Community leaders. (3) Attitude, and (4) in terms of motivation.

2) Comparison of participation in the preparation of the Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan. Classified by personal factors, including gender, age, education level, occupation, monthly income Different people have different levels of participation in the preparation of the Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan.

3) The relationship between factors of participation and the level of participation in the preparation of the Bang Kruai Municipality Development Plan. Participation factors include community leaders in terms of cognition, motivation, and attitude, the correlation with the level of participation in the development of Bang Kruai Municipality Plan was .545** .524** .572** .565** at a significant level. at 0.01, there was a moderate correlation, respectively.
