Guidelines for Integrating Cooperation for Community Wastewater Management Nonthaburi Province

This research aims to: 1. study the factors affecting the integration of cooperation for community wastewater management in Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province, and 2. propose guidelines for integrating cooperation for wastewater management in Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. The research uses a mixed-method approach. For quantitative research, the sample group consists of residents in Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province. The sample size was determined using the criterion of 20 times the number of variables, resulting in a sample of 240 people. The researcher collected data from 400 people for increase the credibility and power of statistical analysis, using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. For qualitative research, the study is divided into two groups. The first group consists of key informants, including the Governor of Nonthaburi Province or their representative, the President of the Nonthaburi Provincial Administrative Organization, the Municipal Clerk of Nonthaburi, the Director-General of the Department of Water Quality Control, and representatives from the Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Mueang District, totaling five individuals. The second group involves a focus group, including schools, shops, and small business operators, totaling 30 participants. The instruments used were structured interviews and focus group discussion records, with content analysis being used for data analysis.
The research findings were as follows: 1. the government role has the most significant influence on the integration of cooperation for wastewater management, followed by the private sector roles and the public roles, respectively. 2. effective wastewater management in Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province, requires cooperation from all sectors. The government plays a critical role in policy formulation, planning, data collection, setting standards, controlling operations, providing resources, and developing treatment systems. The private sector contributes by investing, developing technology, and creating innovations for efficient wastewater management. The public’s role involves providing feedback, raising awareness, and participating in reducing household wastewater. Building a cooperative network among these three sectors will facilitate information exchange, knowledge sharing, and lead to effective and sustainable wastewater management.
