Development of a Model for Preparing for the Management of Aviation Technician Education According to the Standards of the Civil Aviation

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the current situation and examine the list of aircraft mechanic education management of educational institutions under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission and, 2) develop and evaluate the manual for preparation for aircraft technician education according to the standards of The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. The informants were 10 administrators, teachers and 18 experts. The research instruments consisted of 1) a semi-structured interview form, 2) a checklist form, and 3) the propriety evaluation form. Data analysis is the synthesis of content, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The research results were found as follows;

  1. The results of the study of the current situation of the management of education in the field of aircraft mechanics according to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand of educational institutions under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission consists of 6 issues: 1) Organization and operations 2) Teaching and learning management 3) Implementation of training standards 4) Facilities, tools, equipment and training equipment 5) Document storage and 6) Quality management system. The results of the examination of the list of aircraft mechanic education management of educational institutions under the Office of the Vocational Education Commission found that the requirements of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand were 100% complied with.
  2. The results of the development of the manual for preparing for the management of aircraft technician education according to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand consists of 6 chapters: Background, Objectives, Conceptual Framework, Standards for Preparation for the Provision of Education in the Field of Aircraft Mechanics and Evaluation Criteria, Application, and Appendices. The results of the evaluation of the propriety of the manual for preparing for the management of aircraft technician education according to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand found that the overall propriety of the manual was at the highest level.

 For application of research results, vocational educational institutions that will provide education in the field of aircraft mechanics according to the standards of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand can use the education preparation manual to conduct inspections and self-assessments to check their readiness to provide education in order to comply with the standards of The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand
