About the Journal

Pridi Banomyong Law Journal, Dhurakij Pundit University, formerly titled Dhurakij Pundit Law Journal, is an academic publication of the Pridi Banomyong Faculty of Law, Dhurakij Pundit University. The journal publishes scholarly articles and research papers in the field of law, contributed by both internal and external academics.

The journal is published on a biannual basis:

Issue 1: January – June
Issue 2: July – December

The journal is currently accepting submissions

- Each submission is reviewed by at least three qualified experts.
- No submission fee is required.

Objectives of the Journal

1. To disseminate academic works, research findings, and legal knowledge to students and the general public with an interest in law.

2. To encourage students of the Faculty to engage in independent legal reading and research, thereby enhancing their knowledge beyond classroom instruction.

3. To publish articles derived from master’s theses of students in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program.

4. To promote continuous research and the development of knowledge, both theoretically and practically, which can be referenced and applied in professional practice for the benefit of society as a whole.

 

Publication Policy

1. The journal serves as a platform for the dissemination of academic articles and legal research.

2. Submitted manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere, nor previously published in any other journal.

3. Academic articles should present new theoretical perspectives or contribute to a deeper understanding of, or further research in, significant academic topics.

4. Research articles should aim to test theories or expand on key aspects of such theories, enabling readers to gain a clearer understanding or pursue further research.

5. The journal welcomes research employing diverse methodologies or experimental approaches that contribute significantly to knowledge or have a broad impact on the academic community.

 

Review and Publication Process

1. The journal accepts only academic and research articles in the field of law.

2. A rigorous selection process is conducted using a double-blind peer review system.

3. Articles are published in chronological order based on the date of acceptance.

4. All submissions undergo an initial screening by the editorial board to determine acceptance or rejection.

5. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary review are sent to at least three experts in the relevant field for peer review.

6. Reviewers provide comments and recommendations, and articles may be accepted with or without conditions.

7. Authors must submit revised manuscripts in accordance with reviewers’ comments within 10–15 days of receiving the evaluation results.

8. Revised manuscripts are reassessed by reviewers and/or the editorial board to determine final acceptance for publication.

 

Roles and Responsibilities of Authors

1. Authors must certify that their submitted work has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.

2. Authors must not falsify or distort data.

3. Proper references must be provided for all cited works.

4. All listed authors must have made a genuine contribution to the work.

5. Sources of research funding (if any) must be disclosed.

6. Any conflicts of interest must be declared.

 

Roles and Responsibilities of Editors

1. Editors must ensure the quality of submitted manuscripts and adhere to the double-blind peer review process.

2. Editors must not publish work that has been previously published elsewhere.

3. Editors must have no conflicts of interest with any parties involved in the publication process.

4. Editors must rigorously check for plagiarism using reliable detection tools.

5. If plagiarism is detected during the review process, the evaluation must be halted, and the corresponding author contacted for clarification before making a publication decision.

 

Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers

1. Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of the submitted manuscript during the review process.

2. If reviewers are unable to provide an independent and unbiased assessment—for example, due to collaboration with the author, personal acquaintance, or other conflicts—they must inform the editorial board and decline the review.

3. Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts only within their area of expertise and base their judgment on objective evidence rather than personal opinion.

4. If reviewers identify substantial similarity between the submitted manuscript and other works, they must notify the editorial board.
