SOCIAL ORDER IN MANGALATTHADIPANI

Abstract

         This article aims to analyze the social order in Mangalatthadipani. The results showed that Mangalatthadipani is the thesis work of Phrasirimangkalajarn, the most venerable from Chiang Mai, Contents of Mangalatthadipani Discussing 38 principles for living life, which the author has taken the text from the Mongkolasutta in the Suttanibata Khuddaka Nikaya Suttanta pitaka Volume 25 to explain further. The topics of dharma in Mangalatthadipani can be classified into 10 categories, which can be classified into 3 levels of social ordering process: Level 1, social order at the moral level, which is self-determination and consideration for others or society, consisting of section 1; not associating with bullies, associating with graduates, worshiping those who should be worshiped. Section 2; living in a suitable place, having merit before, self-righteousness. Section 3; learned man, art, discipline, eloquence. Section 4; nurturing of parents, taking care of child, helping the wife (husband), not working unreservedly. Section 5; repentance, preserve alms, dhamma conduct, assistance to relatives, work without penalty. Section 6; abstaining from sin, restraint from drinking intoxicants heedlessness, careless in virtue. Level 2, concentration building consciousness, consists of section 7; respect, humility, solitude, gratitude, listening to the dhamma in time. Section 8; patience, easy to preach, seeing monks, conversing dhamma in time. Level 3, knowledge creation or intellectual development building consciousness, consist of section 9; asceticism, conducting the holy life, seeing the noble truths, leading to nirvana. Section 10; the mind is not shaken in the worldliness, the mind is not sorrowful, the mind is free of dust, the mind is joyful.
