สุนทรียภาพแห่งการตีความ (Aesthetics of Interpretation)

Abstract

           The paper is a defence and illustration of the importance of the humanities in the contemporary world. As the discipline’s principal method in strengthening the understanding and appreciation of the arts, interpretation transcends the confines of academia to enrich society culturally, aesthetically, intellectually and spiritually. An aesthetics of interpretation is posited which should underpin academic culture through a happy harmonization between duty and inclination. Historical and theoretical analyses of the concept and relevant case studies aim to demonstrate how interpretation can turn the arts into an enlightened force in society. The paper concludes by aligning itself with the ideals of modern philosophers and poets that should pave the way for a hermeneutical society whose citizens will always awaken to the call of our disruptive present.
