Politics of the Traffic - Solving Policy in Bangkok Metropolitan from B.E. 2504 - 2563

This research has the following objectives to study the government's policies in the management of traffic - Solving in Bangkok from B.E. 2504 - 2563 and the future trends. The analysis was placed on state power in policy formulation to Traffic - solving policy in Bangkok in the government under the Gen. Prayut Chan-ocha and the relationship of actors influencing upon government policy in the management of traffic - solving policy in Bangkok. By using qualitative research method, the researcher conducted a documentary research on books, articles, academic papers, government documentary, relevant, information derived from electronic media, and an in-depth interview. All of these information are used for data analysis. The theories of modernization, interest group, and elitism are used as a conceptual framework.
The findings revealed that the development of Bangkok to be prosperous and modernized in the same way us with the western nations and to become the administrative center of Thailand. As a result, the city expanded with no direction, and there is an unregulated use of land and no planning resulting in a traffic congestion in the city that became a nation crisis. It originated from the use of state power by the government elite starting from the past up to the present including various political changes in Thailand. Moreover, the relationship among public, private, political parties, local government sectors that are both in the form of cooperation and conflict in solving traffic. This is an important cause that affects the management of Bangkok's traffic - solving policy.
