Abstract

          This research aimed to 1) investigate the role of Poraiwan Subdistrict Administrative Organization members according to the Tambon Council and Tambon Administrative Organization, and 2) to study the problems, obstacles and limitations on the functioning of members of the Poraiwan Administration Committee. The research are Mixed Methods research with Quantitative research and Qualitative research. The participants were 373 people, consisting of Poraiwan Subdistrict Administrative Organization members and Poraiwan people. The Quantitative research tools are rating scale questionnaire and Qualitative research tools are in-dept interview, the statistics used are: Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation, hypothesis testing use t-test, F-test Value, and One-way ANOVA. The results showed that 1) concerning the role of Poraiwan Subdistrict Administrative Organization members, it was generally in a high level in every aspect. The aspect with the highest level was the aspect of being of people’s representative followed by administration monitoring, consideration and approval. The hypothesis testing revealed that Member Council the Poraiwan Subdistrict Administrative Organization who had different personal factors had no effect on local development. 2) lacking in political knowledge and having less chances in job training were identified as the main impediments to functioning of members of the Poraiwan Administration Committee.
