Collaboration between the government, private sector and community for implementations of tourism policies in Buriram province duration 2009-2018

Abstract

        The aim of this research is to: 1) study the collaborations among state, private and community sector for the implementation of tourism policies of Buriram province during B.E. 2552-2561, 2) study the problems and obstacles for the implementation of the said policies, and 3) discover the development guidelines towards the collaboration among government, private, and community sector regarding such policies. This is a qualitative research, the main data providers were representatives from the state, private and community totaling 11 persons. The data were collected from past interviews published in different media, including video clips, interview transcripts from reliable social media and in-person interviews conducted by the author using open-ended questions. The latter were recorded using a MP3 audio recorder in which the in-depth interview is conducted with the key-informants.

          The results found that 1) there is a new body of knowledge regarding the collaboration among the state, private, and community sector in which the private sector takes the lead in the policy implementation. 2) The problems and obstacles are in the form of the government’s inertia due to strict bureaucratic rules and regulations. 3) The development guidelines include the provision of relevant information to the public and the construction of basic infrastructure around the community.
