Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) to study the performance effectiveness of city municipality officers in Chonburi province, 2) to examine the factors which affect the performance effectiveness of city municipality officers in Chonburi province. This research is quantitative research. The population and sample group consisted of 400 officers in Laem Chabang city municipality office and Chaopraya Surasak city municipality office. The research instrument is five-level scale questionnaires. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics using structural equation model (SEM) to examine the causal relationship of the variables.

The results can be concluded that 1) the level of performance effectiveness is at the high level, 2) the causal relationship model is well-consistent with the empirical data. The chi-square value ( ) is equivalent to 40.88 with the degrees of freedom (df) at 28. The relative chi-square value ( /df) is equivalent to 1.46. The probability (p-value) is equivalent to .055. The Goodness of Fit Index (GFI) is equivalent to .998. The Adjusted Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) is equivalent to .96. The Comparative Fit Index (CFI) is equivalent to .99. The Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) is equivalent to .028. The Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) is equivalent to .03. All model variables indicate the performance effectiveness at 46 percent.
