Development of Cultural Tourism in Communities After the 2019 Coronavirus Epidemic Situation

Abstract

        This article is a study on the development of cultural tourism in the community after the coronavirus disease 2019 situation. There are three main issues in the analysis which are: 1) the context of cultural tourism, 2) the concept of community tourism management, and    3) the guideline for the development of cultural tourism after the epidemic situation of the coronavirus 2019 to be applied and to stimulate the community adaptation. The results of the analysis in each issue revealed that:

          Sustainability requires a true understanding of cultural tourism context which the one that concerns about learning life style, history, arts, and festivals. It is the study of wisdom in the area and the learning to discover one's own identity and how it is originated through the study of tourist attractions, story-telling, way of life, ethnicity, and communication that creates mutual understanding. Community tourism is a tourism management by allowing the community to participate in the area development, job creation, and income generation to open up opportunities for the development of the area create income jobs by pulling out the the strengths of natural resources and culture in the community in terms of community sage, the organization of environmental management, the promotion of tourism activities that can create the conservation awareness of natural and cultural resources. However, it is necessary to have an important development component, namely an organization to manage, to have a good management system. There must be also a support for the development of quality of life and the community economy. The promotion of community culture, the care for the environment, the learning process, and having a good service.

          The guidelines for the development of cultural tourism after the epidemic situation of the coronavirus 2019, there are important guidelines as follows: the promoting and stimulation of cultural tourism in the country, the personnel development, and cultural attractions development. The focus is on adaptation to the new normal. The promotion of marketing communications with a new image. The stimulation of the foreign-tourist market to come back to travel in a short period of time, especially the group of tourists with high spending potential. Rebalancing to promote sustainable cultural tourism support, and the participation in promoting cultural tourism that is socially and environmentally responsible. However, the development approach must come from the real needs of the community.
