Factors Affecting the Success of the Government Officials in the Department of Army Operations

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were to study the attitudes toward work accomplishment of the officials working in the Department of Army Operations, to compare the attitudes of these officials based on personal factors, and to study the relationships among factors that affect the officials’ work accomplishment. This quantitative study surveyed 165 civil servants and used percentage, mean scores, standard deviation, and correlation in analyzing the data. The t-test and F-test analysis were used in testing the hypotheses.


The results of the study revealed that overall the participants’attitudes toward work accomplishment was at the highest level ( = 3.97). The participants’ attitudes with the highest level were found in the groups of supervisors, colleagues, and subordinates ( = 4.22), followed by job advancement ( = 4.10), and the organization and its management ( = 4.07).  The aspect that the participants agreed the least was working conditions ( =3.54).  In comparing the officials’ attitudes toward work accomplishment based on personal factors (gender, age, education level, marital status, rank, work experience, and the monthly income), the results showed that there were no differences. Regarding the correlations of the factors affecting the success level of the job, it was found that job motivation had the highest correlation level (r = 0.57), followed by job morale (r = 0.43), and human resource management (r = 0.35), respectively.
