The study employed a mixed-method research design, with a sample consisting of 119 police officers from the Investigation Sub-division and 10 key informants. A questionnaire was used as the research tool, and statistical analysis included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and hypothesis testing. The qualitative data obtained from in-depth interviews were analyzed using content analysis principles. The research revealed that the risk level in the performance of duties for police officers in the Investigation Sub-division of Pathum Thani Provincial Police was low. The factors with the highest influence on the risk level, in descending order, were 1) psychological and physical readiness, 2) specialized knowledge and abilities, and 3) leadership qualities. The proposed guidelines for managing risks included maintaining constant physical readiness for psychological and physical aspects. Regarding specialized knowledge and abilities, additional training should be provided to police officers in areas such as legal knowledge, police tactics, weapon handling, and apprehension technologies. In terms of leadership qualities, fostering a positive work attitude and taking preventive measures against potential risks were recommended. Given that the Investigation Sub-division is primarily responsible for handling significant cases, ensuring safety and mitigating risks in their work is of utmost importance.
