Burnout Syndrome Among Personnel Working for the Agricultural Land Reform Office

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the level of working environment and burnout syndrome of staff in the Agricultural Land Reform Office, 2) compare the level of burnout syndrome classified by gender, age, education, status, working experiences and family burdens, and 3) study the correlation between the working environment and burnout syndrome of staff in the Agricultural Land Reform Office. The research used a sample of 265 staff members from the central branch of the Agricultural Land Reform Office selected by using simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire, and statistical methods including descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data.

          The results of the study were as follows: 1) the overall value of working environment in the Agricultural Land Reform Office was found to be suitable at a moderate level with a mean score of 3.64, 2) the staff members were found to be experiencing a moderate level of burnout syndrome with a mean score of 2.42, 3) there were significant differences in burnout syndrome based on age, working experiences, and family burden, with p-values of .001, .001, and .013, respectively, and 4) a negative correlation between the working environment and burnout syndrome, with a correlation coefficient of -.54. The results of this research could be informative for decision-making and provide useful guidance for human resource management at the Agricultural Land Reform Office to reduce the burnout syndrome.
