Factors Affecting the Asset Management of Savings and Credit Cooperatives in Thailand

This research aims: 1) to study the asset management of the savings and credit cooperatives in Thailand, and 2) to study factors that affected the asset management of the savings and credit cooperatives in Thailand. This research was the survey research, testing 302 cooperatives (not including cooperatives assemble) by collected data from representatives of the savings and credit cooperatives executives in Thailand, ones holding a position on the committee or manager positions of the savings and credit cooperatives in Thailand. The research sampling was a purposive sampling. The index of item-objective congruence (IOC) was 0.758 and reliability value of 0.892. The results of the research found that overall value of the asset management of the savings and credit cooperatives in Thailand was at a high level ( = 4.355, S.D. = 0.623). The sample emphasized the managerial accounting technique ( = 4.351, S.D. = 0.364) and financial security both at a high level ( = 3.948, S.D. = 0.281). The hypothesis testing revealed that financial security factors; capital strength influenced the asset management of the savings and credit cooperatives in Thailand on capital management and profitability management with statistically significant value at 0.05 level.
