The approach to improving the quality of life of residents in the Had Sieo Subdistrict Municipality, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province

Abstract
Had Siao Subdistrict Municipality, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province, plays a significant role in local development and enhancing the quality of life of its residents by establishing strategies and development approaches that address local needs. This study aims 1) to investigate the issues related to the quality of life of the residents in Had Siao Subdistrict Municipality, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province, and 2) to propose guidelines for improving their quality of life. The research employs a qualitative approach, involving 17 key informants divided into two groups: service providers and service recipients. The findings reveal that (1) quality of life issues in the municipality include physical challenges such as limited access to public health services, insufficient medical equipment and personnel, particularly for the elderly and those in high-risk occupations, and unhealthy lifestyles. Psychological challenges include stress caused by economic pressures and family responsibilities. Social challenges involve weakened community relationships due to work burdens and cultural changes. Environmental challenges include waste management issues, water pollution, flooding, and road safety concerns. (2) The proposed guidelines for improving quality of life include providing medical equipment, increasing healthcare personnel, deploying mobile health units, supporting free health programs and health promotion activities, offering psychological counseling, promoting work-life balance and debt management programs, encouraging community activities, developing public spaces, increasing green areas, improving waste management systems, implementing wastewater treatment systems, and fostering clean and safe communities.
