This research studies Waste management Guidelines in communities along the Bang Nara River, Case study Kalaetapae village, Kalaepayae village and Taladkao village, Narathiwat Province. The objectives of the research 1) To study the cause of solid waste in Bangnara riverside village 2) To study the impact of waste problems in Bangnara riverside village 3) To study the guidelines for solid waste disposal and generate income from waste in Bangnara riverside village. This research used mixed methods research by using a sampling group technique. There are 2 sampling groups. The first group is a sample population of 335 people in Kalaetapae village, Kalaepayae village, and Taladkao village. The second group is key informants; the director of the Department of Public Health and Environment, an expert public health officer, and an employee of the Department of Public Health and Environment by purposive sampling. The instruments used for collecting data consisted of a questionnaire, an In-depth Interview, an analysis of data using ready-made statistical analysis programs, and descriptive statistics.
The research results found that 1) The cause of waste comes from people's consumption behaviour, community expansion, and local shops not separating waste types before disposal. Waste floats along the water current and piles up along the Bang Nara River, causing a large amount of waste to accumulate. 2) The impact of waste problems has 6 aspects: long-term impact, environmental impact, sanitation impact, social impact, quality of life impact, and economic impact. 3) Communities along the Bang Nara River should use the 3R principle to manage waste problems in the area. Households separate waste at the source, for example, each household in the community separates waste before disposal at the waste collection point or before disposal. Narathiwat Municipality should also promote training projects to provide knowledge to communities on waste separation and proper disposal of each type of waste according to sanitary principles.
