บทความนี้ต้องการนำเสนอภาพรวมของระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจบนคลาวด์ โดยมุ่งสร้างความเข้าใจแก่ผู้บริหาร ตลอดจนผู้มีอำนาจตัดสินใจพิจารณาแนวทางการใช้ระบบสารสนเทศภายในองค์กร สาระสำคัญของบทความส่วนแรกครอบคลุมถึงภาพรวมและขอบเขตการทำงานของระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจ ข้อดีและข้อจำกัดของระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจที่ติดตั้งอยู่ที่องค์กร เพื่อชี้ให้เห็นถึงจุดแข็งและจุดอ่อนของระบบแบบดั้งเดิม ส่วนที่สองครอบคลุมการประมวลผลบนคลาวด์ ตัวแบบการให้บริการ ตัวแบบการนำการประมวลผลบนคลาวด์ไปใช้งาน และตัวแบบการนำระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจไปใช้ในองค์กร เพื่อสร้างความเข้าใจในการเชื่อมโยงเทคโนโลยีคลาวด์เข้ากับระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจ ส่วนที่สามนำเสนอประโยชน์และสิ่งที่ท้าทายของระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจบนคลาวด์ เพื่อใช้เป็นข้อมูลเปรียบเทียบกับระบบชนิดติดตั้งที่องค์กร ลำดับสุดท้าย นำเสนอประเด็นเพิ่มเติมด้านการเคลื่อนย้ายไปยังระบบคลาวด์และบล็อกเชนในระบบการวางแผนทรัพยากรวิสาหกิจบนคลาวด์ เพื่อแสดงภาพการเปลี่ยนผ่านไปยังระบบคลาวด์และการต่อยอดเทคโนโลยีใหม่ให้แก่ระบบ ตามลำดับ
