The Development of Instructional Media of Comparative Sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese for Chinese Grammar Learning

Abstract

The objectives of this research are divided in 3 parts; 1) Developing and enhancing the efficiency of instructional media of comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese which based on learning. 2) Comparing the knowledge and comprehension in comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese of students before and after learning through this lesson. 3) Investigating the student’ satisfaction towards the developed lesson. The population was 20 Chinese program students, studying in Grade 11 of Phetpittayakom School. The instruments of this research are the instructional media of comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese that is compiled by researchers, a pre-assessment test, a post-assessment test, and a questionnaire of students’ satisfaction towards the lesson developed. percentage, average, standard deviation (S.D.), and matched paired t-test were used in collecting and analyzing data. The results of the research are the average score of formative test of this instructional media of comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese is 80.06 percent and the average score of summative test is 83.25 percent (80.06/83.25). The students’ knowledge and comprehension of comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese after learning through this material are significantly higher than before using it at the .01 level. The students satisfy on the instructional media of comparative sentences with “bǐ” in Chinese.
