รายงานนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหาร โดยทำการศึกษาจากกรณีศึกษาแนวทางการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหารของประเทศออสเตรเลีย โดยออสเตรเลียเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศที่มีความมั่นทางอาหารมากที่สุดในโลก ซึ่งแนวทางการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหารของออสเตรเลียในปัจจุบันถือเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้ออสเตรเลียมีความมั่นคงทางอาหารอยู่ในระดับสูงและประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมากในแง่ของการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหารภายในประเทศ โดยแนวทางการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหารของออสเตรเลียประกอบไปด้วยความร่วมมือทั้งภายในประเทศและระหว่างประเทศ นอกจากนี้ได้กล่าวถึงแนวโน้มในอนาคตต่อแนวทางการพัฒนาความมั่นคงทางอาหารของออสเตรเลียที่อาจเกิดขึ้น และมีการอธิบายกรณีศึกษาเชื่อมโยงกับทฤษฎีความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ
