Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to compare the students’ ability of English reading comprehension skill before and after learning with KWL – Plus technique 2) to study the students’ opinions toward learning management to improve their reading comprehension skills with KWL – Plus teaching technique.
The sample populations were the 100 of third-year English major students selected by purposive sampling who enrolled English Reading 3 course for Academic Year 2016 Semester 2 (2/2016). The instruments used in this study were 10 lesson plans, pre-test and post-test, and the questionnaire for collecting the students’ opinions in the development of English reading comprehension skill through KWL – Plus technique. The data were analyzed by Mean, Standard Deviation, and t-test.
The results of the research were as follows:
- The students’ ability of English reading comprehension skills after learning with KWL-Plus teaching technique was significantly higher than before at the level of 0.5
- The students’ opinions towards the learning management to improve their reading comprehension skills with KWL – Plus were at a high level ( = 3.96)
