An Analysis of Buddhist Amulets"Phra Nangphaya" during the Period of King Naresuan

Abstract

This research study investigated the Buddhist amulets during the period of King Naresuan the Great’s reign, namely Phra Nangphayakhao khong, Phra Nangphayakhaotrong, Phra Nangphayaaoknoonyai ,Phra Nang phayasangkhati. The analysis was made to explore the Buddhist characteristics and components of the amulets.It was found that each amulet had distinctive features unique of its mold.As for their benefits, it was found that they were generally similar in that they were meant to provide protection from dangers, physical invulnerability, and fortune and favor.
