The Development of English Communicative Skills from Movies and Fiction of English Major Students in English for Mass Media Subject

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to compare educational management of Finland
and Thailand, 2) to examine problems of English communicative skills from English movies
and novel, 3) to find the ways to develop English instruction of English teachers. The
samplings were 50 English major students in English for Mass Media subject. The samplings
used was purposive sampling. The research instruments were the documentary films of
Education in Finland and use Facebook as the platform for students ‘opinions to compare with their own English learning experience, the open-end question forms for English movie
and English novel. The research found out that there are many different aspects of Education
management in Finland and Thailand, also the problems of English communicative of the
students. Finally, the researcher found out that there are many ways to develop in learning
and teaching English.
