Opinions of the Royal Forest Department Personnels Toward Implementation of Department's Missions under the National Forest Policy

Abstract

The National Forest Policy served as comprehensive framework for Thailand forest resource management. This study aimed to examine general information of the Royal Forest Department personnels, the opinion level and the factors affecting opinions of the Royal Forest Department personnels on implementation of the department's missions under the National Forest policy. Data were collected from 385 respondents through the designed questionnaires, with the data collection from June - July 2024, and statistical analysis was t-test and F-test with the significance level at 0.05

              The results of this study indicated that most respondents were female of 53.50 percent with an average age was at 42.09 years. Most of them had a bachelor degree of 53.25 percent and single status of 58.18 percent. Their majority was the government employee with an average service period of 13.22 years. The respondents read the National Forest Policy only once at 27.79 percent, while 76.88 percent never attended any meetings related to the National Forest Policy. Their knowledge of the National Forest Policy was at a high level, with an average score 7.48.  the opinion level on Royal Forest Department Personnels on implementation of department's missions under the National Forest Policy was at a high level, with an average score 3.92. the factors affecting opinions of the Royal Forest Department personnels on implementation of department's missions under the National Forest policy was National Forest policy knowledge which was an important factor that directly affected operation of the Royal Forest Department personnels. Therefore, the training and ability developmental programmes should be prepared for the Royal Forest Department personnels to increase their knowledge and encourage the implementation of the National Forest policy in a systematic manner and achievement goals.
