ECO-CULTURAL INTEGRITY OF THUNG TUK COASTAL TO CREATE COMMUNITY ARTS

Abstract

The “Eco-Cultural Integrity of Thung Tuk Coastal to Create Community Arts” is a creative research article on visual arts. The research aims to 1) investigate more data about coastal eco-cultures in Thung Tuk area Koh Kho Khao Subdistrict, Takua Pa District, Phang Nga Province, and 2) analyze and synthesize the process of integrity, actual images, representations, and memories, leading to a new paradigm of community art creation. It focuses on studying information that creates beauty for the community, including 1) Environment, 2) Way of life, 3) Arts, and 4) Memories.

          The results showed that the model of knowledge of creating aesthetics of the eco-culture of Thung Tuk coastal communities could be created based on the 6 elements. These elements include 1) actual image: the outstanding beauty of the area, such as pink dolphins, egrets, and star fruit turtles, and so on; 2) representation of the ancient community of Thung Tuk, such as ancient beads, Ganesha Sila, and temple; 3) memory pictures: pictures from the memories of the locals in the area, like memories about the story of the ancient city of Thung Tuk; 4) the form of integrity: the integration of sub-unit of core knowledge from real images, avatars, and memories to create a new look of community arts; 5) relationship with the area: to study the meaning of the area to find the relationship with the community artworks; and 6) the process of creating community arts: to show the process of creating visual artworks that must consider the participation of people in the community.
