บทความนี้สำรวจโดยย่อเกี่ยวกับ “ปัญหาเกษตรกรรม” และ ”การเปลี่ยนผ่านด้านเกษตรกรรม” โดยเสนอการวิเคราะห์และวิธีคิดของนักเศรษฐศาสตร์การเมืองแนวมาร์กซิสต์ดั้งเดิม พร้อมทั้งแนวคิดและการวิเคราะห์ “ปัญหาเกษตรกรรม” ของกลุ่มนักวิชาการด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์การเมืองเชิงวิพากษ์ในปัจจุบัน ซึ่งสรุปได้เป็นปัญหาเกษตรกรรมเจ็ดแนวคิด ต่อมาก็อธิบายเส้นทางการเปลี่ยนผ่านด้านเกษตรกรรมแบบทุนนิยมในประเทศต่าง ก่อนที่จะจบลงด้วยข้อสังเกตบางประการ
