ยุทธวิธีการจัดการชีวิตเดินทางของ “นักท่องเที่ยวแรงงานไทย” ในออสเตรเลีย

บทความนี้ศึกษา “นักท่องเที่ยวแรงงานไทย” ที่เดินทางไปใช้ชีวิตในประเทศออสเตรเลียภายใต้ข้อตกลงวีซ่าท่องเที่ยวและทำงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อทำความเข้าใจยุทธวิธีการจัดการชีวิตเดินทางในต่างแดนภายใต้สภาวะสองสถานะที่ถูกกำกับโดยรัฐผ่าน “ระบอบการเคลื่อนย้าย” โดยใช้วิธีการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพเก็บข้อมูลเยาวชนไทยที่เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ รุ่นปี 2018-2019 จากการศึกษาพบว่า การตกอยู่ในสถานะนักท่องเที่ยวและแรงงานไปพร้อมกัน แม้ด้านหนึ่งถูกมองว่าได้ประโยชน์จากการเดินทาง แต่อีกด้าน กลับถูกเอารัดเอาเปรียบจากสถานะทับซ้อน ภายใต้การเผชิญปัญหานี้ พวกเขาได้ใช้วิธีการสร้างเครือข่ายทางสังคม เป็นยุทธวิธีสำคัญในการอำนวยความสะดวกต่อการใช้ชีวิตในที่ใหม่และช่วยต่อรองกับกฎเกณฑ์ข้อบังคับของรัฐ
